Bolivian Squirrel Monkey

The Bolivian squirrel monkey is a small and energetic primate, instantly recognised by its bright eyes and expressive face. Its short, dense fur is typically olive or grey, with lighter tones around the face and underside. As a result, its striking appearance makes it one of the most distinctive monkeys in the rainforest.

Native to South America, this species inhabits tropical rainforests, particularly in Bolivia and surrounding regions. In particular, it prefers areas close to rivers and dense vegetation. Because of this, it spends most of its life moving through the trees rather than on the ground.
