Rides Close for 2015 Season

28th September 2015

Rides close for the 2015 season. It has recently become apparent that Chessington World of Adventures is having a tough season this year. With prolonged periods of downtime on Dragon’s Fury and longer so on Rattlesnake. Sadly, more closures are now in effect.

Chessington has announced that Tomb Blaster and Safari Skyway are to remain closed for the remainder of the 2015 season. Following on from large periods of downtime on both rides this year.

Tomb Blaster has been subject to a lot of negative feedback this season. Following large portions of the rides being broken, the effects in many scenes are in disrepair. The ride has struggled to handle the large number of visitors the park has received this season.

Safari Skyway hasn’t been in the best state of repair for the last couple of seasons. The ride is closing down for much of last season and now looks set to repeat it this year. The reasons for these ride closures aren’t quite clear. But we’re beginning to think this is more than simple ride breakdown issues. Perhaps these two ageing rides could be leaving the resort sooner than we think?

Chessington isn’t having the best year for reliability. In the wake of the major incident that took place at the sister park, Alton Towers. Vampire is late opening at the start of the season. Dragon’s Fury is being delayed due to the closed season maintenance overrunning. And other rides suffering major bouts of downtime, 2015 seems to have been a season of struggle at Chessington.

Chessington Buzz will, of course, keep you up to date with all the latest updates this season. So, keep your eyes peeled on our website and our social media channels for the latest news.
